Medium Range Image Scaling
LazrDot
provides precise, instant image scaling for measurements with C-Map
System's VideoRuler or Mission Manager video micrometers. The
LazrDot system uses two solid state lasers to project a pair of
bright red dots of a known distance apart into the video image. The
lasers are mounted in parallel on a rigid bar of adjustable width. Thus
if the lasers are configured at a separation of 10 cm, the red dots in
the image are also separated by 10 cm. To use LazrDot, the
operator simply freezes the video and calibrates the micrometer by
stretching a calibration line between the dots (which scales the image).
The micrometer tools may then be used to measure areas or distances
anywhere in the image plane.
Precise Video Measurements
The separation of the two
LazrDot projection modules is determined by the user. The
greatest scaling sensitivity is achieved with a small width, which is
suitable for close inspection work. Sensitivity decreases as the
separation is increased for longer range viewing. The LazrDot
laser spots are easily visible at distances up to 200' in normal indoor
lighting.
