Housed Lasers for Underwater Video Applications

C-Map Systems, Inc. offers our LazrDot and LazrLyne solid-state diode lasers packaged in rugged stainless steel underwater housings, rated for use at Full-Ocean-Depth. C-Map also offers an anodized aluminum version for shallower water.   The underwater laser modules are designed for use with the measurement functions of VideoRuler and Mission Manager, but the underwater lasers are valuable for use with any underwater video system.

Each Laser module projects a bright red dot into the video field-of-view, providing an instant, precise scaling reference. The standard LazrDot configuration consists of two lasers mounted in parallel at a known separation, creating a constant indication of size. Combine any number of lasers into a custom configuration for scaling or range finding. Add the optional 80° -fan optics to project a narrow stripe of laser light that shows an instant 3D profile of a surface.

*    Rugged Construction for Deep or Shallow Applications  

Deepwater housing are machined from a solid bar of 316 stainless steel, with knurled bronze bezel, and sapphire window. The standard module design is rated to -20,000 fsw. Wet mate-able power connectors are standard, with custom connectors optional, to meet your requirements.

Shallow water housings are constructed of anodized aluminum, with Delrin bezels, and Lexan windows. Shallow housings are rated for use to -300 meters depth.

C-Map's underwater lasers utilize the latest diode laser technology for maximum brightness and water penetration. Diode options include 5, 10, 15 or 20 milliwatts power output at 635-nanometer wavelength.  Contact us for Green Laser Options.
